Summer Math and Reading Challenge
Imagine Town Center Families,
I am happy to update you on our summer math and reading challenges today!
I have a new link to share with you that will allow you to access Math Fact in a Flash and AR tests from home.
Should you need your username and password to access these, please contact the front office and they can assist.
The link below should allow access to both Math Facts in a Flash and AR tests from your home (or anywhere) now through July 31, 2018. hosted378.renlearn.com/3475061/default.aspx
We would still love to see our Lions taking AR tests in the front office! Our summer office hours are Monday-Thursday from 9am-2pm. We are closed the week of July 4.
When you use this link, please access AR through the orange boxes at the bottom of the page. You can look up an AR book, or click “Take a Test.” Please keep in mind that students should take AR tests independently. When you click on Math Facts in a Flash, each student will have to take an initial placement test. This test begins with simple addition facts and students have to score a 100% before they can move on in the program. In part, this is to help students learn how to master the set up and answering portion of the program.
Please DO NOT access the blue STAR 360 boxes from home over the summer. Thank you!
I love our Lion’s enthusiasm for learning this summer and I cannot wait to see the progress our students make this summer!
Great Opportunity to Avoid the Summer Slide!!
“Summer is a time that allows families the opportunity to go on vacation, spend days together, and catch up on daily life. It can also be a time where children lose the valuable skills they have worked on throughout the school year. One way in which we would like to partner with you to avoid the summertime slump is to provide practice with our STAR computer based programs. Throughout the summer children can come in and utilize our Accelerated Reader Program, as well as our Math Facts in a Flash. Accelerated Reader offers 10 comprehension based questions on books students have read. Parents can access the types of books that AR quizzes on through arbookfinder.com. Please make sure your student has read their book prior to taking an AR quiz. Math Facts in a Flash is a skill based fluency program. Children practice various types of math facts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will have computers set up in the front office so that you and your child can take advantage of these programs. The computers will be set up in the front office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday thru Thursday.”
