Changes and Updates for 2019-2020
Imagine Town Center Families,
We trust your summer is off to a fantastic start. It has been great fun to watch many of you through our “Summer Series” on our Facebook page, seeing all of the memories that are being built this summer for your families. On campus, we are in full summer time mode, preparing for the upcoming school year, and, as always, attempting to make things more efficient and effective for you.
One change to note for the upcoming year, which we hope to be helpful to you, is the addition of navy uniform bottoms for our K-5 students as a second color choice. Khaki is also still a viable option, but for those students who like to play hard and get dirty, we felt a darker color may assist you in helping your uniforms to last a longer period of time.
Next, in regards to the purchase of planners – planners will only be available and required for purchase for students in grades K-4 this year. Should you desire for your older student to have a planner to keep organized throughout the school year, you can purchase one of your own choosing elsewhere. To assist in reducing congestion in the high traffic area of the cafeteria during our Open Houses, we will have planners available for purchase ($5.00) in the front office beginning Monday, June 24. Our office hours in the summer are M-Th 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and we will be closed for the week of July 4.
Also available in the front office over the summer will be the ability to address any changes needed with your car rider number and tags. While your car rider number remains the same from 2018-2019 to 2019-2020, should you need new tags to replace ones you may have lost or additional tags for additional vehicles who may pick up your child, those can be picked up in the front office this summer. Additionally, if you are switching to the back car rider line this year because your child went from 1st to 2nd grade, while your # remains the same, the color of your car tag needs to change (from blue to red), and you can stop in the front office to make that adjustment. Likewise, if your child has been in the back car rider line and you have a younger sibling beginning this year, you also will need to switch colors (from red to blue).
All in all, our aim is to make Open House a streamlined, efficient, meaningful experience for you. If you can get these items taken care of this summer without waiting in a line, Open House is more about the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and focus on the year ahead.
As a reminder, Open House dates and times are as follows:
Wednesday, August 7th
- 10:00-11:30 a.m. Grades 1-5
- 1:00-2:30 p.m. Kindergarten and Grades 6-8
First day of school is on Monday, August 12th.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to call us this summer. Enjoy more memory making!
