Parent Input is Needed
Imagine Town Center Families,
Please watch this brief 2 minute video first and then take a quick survey by Tuesday, June 16, 2020 so we can hear your voice about the possible options in re-opening our school in the fall. Our team is working diligently to prepare various paths for re-entry so that once the state releases guidelines we can respond quickly and effectively with our plan to best serve your families needs, but your input is critical as we strategize.
Thank you for your partnership! Together is truly better.

Summer Reading Outline
Imagine Families,
You have all done an amazing job transitioning to distance learning and you have played an instrumental part in ensuring your child’s success during the 4th quarter. We are thankful for all that you have done. We understand that you, as well as your child, are tired. The type of schooling that we endured was “crisis schooling” and we are all feeling the effects. In moving into summer, it is our goal to ensure your child avoids summer learning loss while ensuring no additional stress to your family. Research shows that students can lose up to 2 months of reading achievement over the summer, making reading our primary summer focus.
Imagine is excited to announce our summer reading incentive program. Please know that summer reading is completely optional but we hope everyone will participate. Students are being asked to read 90 minutes per week. The 90 minutes can be done in any increments of time that work well for your family. Students can read to self or can enjoy family members reading to them. The reading incentive will run from June 1st to July 31st. Each week you will be asked to complete a Google Form to provide us with the amount of time spent reading for the week. All students who complete 90 minutes of reading for all nine weeks will receive a free Kona Ice on August 21st.Â
To help you pick books that are best for your child, we have included a link that lists books for each grade level, Recommended Reading List. The recommended reading list gives you titles to the top 20 books that students are reading for each grade level and also gives you great insight on best reading practices. Please see the attached document which will help you locate digital books to read for free.
Should your family want more to do academically this summer, Imagine Schools has also developed a website for Summer Learning. On the website you can explore various content areas which give many ideas to promote learning. There are also ready-made “grab and go materials,” prepared for each grade level. In this tab you can find a student packet and a family resource packet designed by week in which the material is progressively becoming more challenging. Please be reminded that everything within the Summer Learning website is completely optional.
We look forward to seeing the students journey through this summer reading. We hope the books they read will take them on great adventures, allow them to explore their interests more deeply, and build a great reading routine with you. Have a great summer!
Best Regards,
Rachael Spires & Heather Overton
Academic Coaches
Summer Reading Challenge
Imagine Town Center Families,
Whew! We made it to the finish line! Well done!
Many of you are weary and don’t want to think about school for the next couple of months, yet many of you are looking for ways to keep your students engaged throughout the summer months so they continue to make progress. Attached you will find a letter from our academic coaches, Mrs. Spires and Mrs. Overton where they outline an optional summer reading challenge. Statistics show that devoting time to independent reading daily can unlock the greatest potential for our learners. Please take a moment to read over the letter, peruse the resources provided, and then get your child excited about this challenge. We look forward to amazing participation, and lots of Kona Ice recipients when we return in the Fall.
We even encourage you to do this challenge as a family, reading together for a few moments out of each day can build some of the greatest memories you’ll ever make, and take your family on some of the greatest adventures ever. When your children see you as a role model engaged in reading as well, their curiosity for reading and their interest will pique and they will want to walk alongside of you in the journey.

Survey Time
Imagine Town Center Families,
We first want to say that we MISS YOU and hope that everyone is well!
During these unprecedented times of school closures, it is more important than ever to hear from our parents and guardians about what we can do to support you. We ask you to take a few minutes to fill out an online survey. Your feedback is essential to ensure we continue to provide high-quality learning experiences to our Imagine Lions so they can thrive.
To submit the online Family Survey, please go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/ImagineFamily.
It will be available in English and Spanish from May 14-29. The survey should take about five minutes and you may use a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone to access it.
This Family Survey will help identify how children adapted to distance learning under the model we put together and what our families may still need help with. Let us know how we can better support you and your family! What you have to share with us as your family’s experience is foundational to our success and overall improvement. Please complete one survey per household (not one per child) by May 29.
Thank you for your support during these difficult times. We look forward to the day we can welcome students back to school. Until then, let’s all continue to stay safe, stay healthy, and stay connected.
